I've used Thule racks exclusively for years, the Xsporter 500 Pro is a major disapointment. The engineering funtion of these racks is poor. I've had the racks 2 months and already one cross bar bent with a load of 150 lbs. Two crossbar plastic caps broke off. One plastic lock cap and two bottom caps have broken off. The racks are difficult to move up and down. Has a funky locking system made of plastic teeth to lock the cross bars in place. One of the plastic teeth broke off. When locked in place, the cross bars are mildly wobbly. On the upside, the racks look good and Thule has stood by their warrantly and replaced the broken parts.
These are not good for construction loads, maybe ok for a kayak or bicycle. I would not recommend these racks to a friend.
