Great product but... if you have a 3rd gen (the newest ones) Tacoma and plan to lower the crossbars, you'll have to cut a couple of inches off of the verticals because they hit indents on the inside of the bed. Easy enough to do on a chop saw (yay for aluminum) but you'll lose the option to use the keyed locks.

Rack works great for carrying my kayaks. I chose not to use the load stops because I want to use the rubber strip without cutting it. Love this thing! Easy install took about an hour by myself.

2014 Ford F 250/350/450 Crew C

I've used Thule racks exclusively for years, the Xsporter 500 Pro is a major disapointment. The engineering funtion of these racks is poor. I've had the racks 2 months and already one cross bar bent with a load of 150 lbs. Two crossbar plastic caps broke off. One plastic lock cap and two bottom caps have broken off. The racks are difficult to move up and down. Has a funky locking system made of plastic teeth to lock the cross bars in place. One of the plastic teeth broke off. When locked in place, the cross bars are mildly wobbly. On the upside, the racks look good and Thule has stood by their warrantly and replaced the broken parts. These are not good for construction loads, maybe ok for a kayak or bicycle. I would not recommend these racks to a friend.

The best rack for hauling surf boards. Does not whistle in the wind either which was one of my concerns. Great product. I bought the black one and it looks good.

Great product for my application! I bought these to transport two new kayaks that I will be purchasing. I had Yakima BedRock setup for our bikes and worked great but now with the Xsporter the bikes will be in the way of the Kayak so I went back a few days later and bought the T2 Pro XT for the hitch (I have an F-150). I love both Thule and Yakima but remember they have slight differences in models so you will need to find what work best for you! That being said, we do have a trailer and the Yakima BedRock was the best option as I didn't want to install anything on the roof because I'm not that big and don't want to struggle getting it up or down from there. Now with the Xsporter installed, I ended up installing a front hitch for the T2 Pro XT because we want to bring both the yaks and the bikes. All in all, I love both models and especially the hitch rack because its so much more easier getting the bikes on and off. As for the yaks, that'll take time for me as they are/can be bulky due to it being a tandem.
