This hitch mounted bike rack stays on from Spring to Fall. I can easily access the cargo area with the tilt down feature of the rack (with no bikes mounted on rack). It easily holds 3 adult mountain bikes and should hold a fourth adult bike. I use the Thule 982 Frame adapter on 2 of the bikes and it makes it much easier to load a woman's bike on the rack. This bike rack is highly recommended.
