Yakima LongArm Kayak Rack

This rack does exactly what I hoped it would, however, I question the quality of craftsmanship for the steep price. After following the instructions and mounting the rack, it doesn’t sit level and has a significant slant to one side.

Very sturdy part. Will get lots of use out of it for more than just carrying kyaks.

Excellent item. Two things though. You need to purchase the hitch lock separately for 50.00 and the hitch bolt/lock system is of course different than all other manufacturers so more keys. Second point but resolved. There are two sections, the hitch part and swing arm and the post with support. You bolt both together and after assembled awkward to put into truck. Do not bolt them together but use the 5/16 hitch pin lock. That way you almost have 2 straight pieces to store into truck. Works great. Yakima......how about that!

Very well made and light. Easy to install into hitch and secure in place. Initial setup is very easy and the instructions provided on yakima's website make putting it together a simple process. I love that this bed extender is adjustable and can have a separate extension to purchase if I ever need to mount anything to the roof rack on my truck. I have used this to transport my fishing kayak, which when fully loaded weighs around 150lbs. It is very sturdy with the load on there and I have no concerns of anything coming loose or falling off. It's nice when I get to the water and want to remove it and put in my truck bed to just remove 1 bolt and it fits in the bed perfectly. I have a locking diamondback HD tonneau cover so I dont have to worry about anyone stealing it. I also have a yakima baseline rack system with jetstream bars, which once I get the correct clips for my new truck, will be transferring over. All of yakima's products seem to be very well made and they have great customer service.

Haven’t used it yet. But looks awesome for what I need it to do. Would recommend for kayaks and hauling stuff with a short bed truck

The extension is perfect if you want to carry kayaks with the nose down in the front of the truck bed, or level with the top of the tailgate rail. Aluminum and light weight. Excellent product and couldn't be easier to buy than at Rack Attack.
