Thule 9010XT Archway 3 Bike Rack

That's very unusual, and we have never heard of this before. Thule uses the same cradles on almost all of their bike racks, it sounds like maybe yours is simply defective? You may want to call Thule, and have it replaced under their limited lifetime warranty. You can call us on our toll free number for help as well!

My bike fell off this rack twice! Luckily, only one side came off and the bike didn't touch the ground. The only reason the rating isn't a 0 is because the rack itself mounted to the vehicle very nicely, but the product couldn't perform the most important function. The problem seems to be that the rubber saddles are too soft and the saddles themselves can move along the arm. When going down the road, the front of the bike continues to slide forward on the arm while the rear slides backward. Eventually, the bike is no longer perpendicular, but is at such an extreme angle in the carrier that it pushes through the rubber saddles and then pushes directly on the rubber strap that is holding the bike. After enough time, the strap will pop off of it's holder and your bike is now unhooked.
