Very good solution if you live in apartment and don't have much storage space for roof box. I tried different cargo systems to carry skies/snowboards: First I bought Yakima HitchSki 6-Ski Adapter (I have yakima bike hitch carrier). Then I realized it doesn't fold, occupies a LOT of space in storage despite it is pretty lightweight. Also, skies/snowboards are pretty dirty and I get annoyed by the false alarm from parking sensors. Then I tried roof box (Thule Motion XT Alpine). I realized that it has size of almost half of my car, there is no place to store it, it's heavy and really hard to carry to the second floor of my apartment by one person. Finally I tried this Thule SnowPack Extender. Absolutely different experience! This rack is small, lightweight, easy to store and carry in the small apartment, could be easily installed by one person. Skies and snowboards are clean after long drive at highway. Furthermore, I don't need to clean up skies from snow - air flow does the work.
