Easy to install (a matter of minutes) and gives security of being able to lock your bikes on if you will be leaving the vehicle with bikes unattended.

Strong and convenient but could be removed by a clever thief with allen wrench. Def. made for just securing bikes for a few hours (stopping for meals, etc.), not overnight or in bad parts of town.

I like the fact that the cable can be stored inside the Bike rack

The lock at the post end does not go all the way into the post. If you push it all the way in, it springs out about 1 inch. Not a big problem.

That sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. That being said, just like the door locks on your car, all cable locks are a deterrent only. No matter how thick the cable, a thief with the correct tools will cut it in a matter of seconds. For a more robust solution you need to go with a hardened steel U-Lock, or something like the "New York" chain, by Kryptonite. Your local bike store can give you more information.

Cable cut and bike stolen first time used. Not worth 50 dollars. Cheap thin cable.
