Thule UpRide Bike Rack

The mechanism is different from other tracks but it’s not complicated. Very easy to place bike in track and even easier to remove. No frame contact. This is a big improvement over my previous two tracks that both gripped the frame. This is a heavy rack, though.

Two UpRides can attach to the vehicle in < one minute. We can load our two road bikes on even quicker than that. They are very secure, and we can drive the car without worrying about them!

This is my 2nd UpRide rack. I love that it fits a multitude of wheel sizes and al types of bikes. It’s also super easy to install on your vehicle and fast to strap your bike in. Highly recommend!

The best roof bike rack on the market thule 599

Excellent rack to hold my brand new Fezzari Cascade Peak. It holds it nice and tight and the construction and quality of the rack is excellent. Thule is one company that has not compromised quality over the years. The only small thing I did not like about the rack was the locking mechanism. It does not use the traditional lock on the release lever. Instead it uses an integrated cable lock. I plan on using another lock along with the integrated lock.

Easy to use

2019 Subaru Impreza 5dr

Pros: quick to install/remove with t-tracks, and easy to get bike on/off. Cons: Very long racks and not very aerodynamic.

2017 Volkswagen GTI 5dr

T-tracks make it easy to take on and off the vehicle quickly. Which is good because it's big and the large footprint makes a fair amount of wind noise. The functionality of the rack is great, it's very quick and easy to load/unload the bikes once you get the hang of it. The built in cable lock is also very nice.

The bike rack is solid and easy to use. My only gripe is the instruction is all picture and no step-by-step directions. Also, parts are not labelled as clearly as it could have. Other than that, the rack itself seems to work well. I have yet to drive fast on the free way with the bike attached. I will update my review then.

Hold the bike very securely. One minor issue with the Upride is that the two arms have difficulty locking together to secure the front wheel. I've learned to twist and wiggle things a little to the arms to lock together.
