Thule 9026 Apex 5 Bike Rack

This is so easy to use and it is great for my 5-person family. Everything fits snugly but nicely, and there is minimal movement when driving. This unit is highly recommended, and all of the RESEARCH that I have done for 5-bike units shows the Thule Apex is better than the Thule Vertex and Yakima Full Tilt models.

Bought this for our family who travels every weekend back and forth to cottage. Goes on the car in April and off in September. Well made product. Easy to tilt with the latch. Does not tilt well with bikes on. Will only carry 5 bikes IF they are road bikes. Does not carry our 5 mountain bikes. Difficult to carry children's bikes on it- need to be creative with bungee cords. Challenging and time consuming to put on bikes to rack as all our frames are different in sizes. We have recently purchased a different system- where you click your tires into the trays and clamps and this is so much more user friendly and accommodates all size of bikes. Only comes in 4 though, but I am told that most well constructed bike racks are made for 4 bikes.
