Thule Traverse Fit Kit 1668

I was transferring my Thule rack from a 2005 Scion Xb to a 2017 Toyota Prius V. The instructions did not explain how to remove the old mounting clips, and it had been so long since I installed the system on the Scion, I didn't remember the details. It wasn't clear to me how to remove the old clips. Finally, a youtube video on assembling the clips on a new system made it clear that they really just "hook" over the retaining bushing. They were still quite tight and needed some determined encouragement, but after seeing the video, I was confident of the procedure, and perseverance got it done. I think the rack mounting instruction for the Prius V does not specify an appropriate distance between the bars. It specifies 28", which might be OK for a regular Prius, but much too close for the longer Prius V. I used 36" spacing, which worked out perfectly on the Prius V. The rear mounts fit well and very securely. I think the Prius V instruction should specify 36" spacing. The front bar location (12.25" behind the top of the windshield) is fine.
