Thule 400xt Aero Foot Pack

I got my foot packs along with the feet to add a rack over my cab without rain gutters. I had one on my camper shell and needed one up front. I really appreciated the video on how to install, made it easier than the instructions that came with the product. I had never put on a rack without the rain gutters and was skeptical but after tugging on the bar and rocking the vehicle, looks like it hold. Thanks a great product. For canoeist I also recommend the load stops to go on the square Thule bars, they are better than gunwale rackets. I will refer everyone to Rack Attack that needs a rack.

2006 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab

This is very solid rack. Relatively easy installation. The biggest problem that I had was threading the clamps into the feet on the car. It was a little tough to get the bolts in without cross-threading. Everything fits perfectly.

2005 Scion xB

The instructions could have had a lot more details. Didn't realize the handle on the screw that engages the swivel nut has to be extended to give you enough length the engage the nut. The real pain was squeezing the "trigger" that locks the cross bar and rack to the foot. Finally had to use a block of wood and a C-clamp to get enough force to engage the locking mechanism. The rubber pads are exactly the right shape to match the prius roof/drip line. It seems a shame you have to spend another $50 to get enough locks to lock the rack to the car even tho they recommend them! I spent more on the roof rack and J-bars than I spent on one of my Kayaks! I gave this a 3 because the design makes the system very solid once it is on the car.

I found the staff at Rack Attack very helpful and knowledgable. I have a car that is difficult to fit: 2007 Pontiac G6 4 door. I found the video very helpful in selecting the item and in installing the item. I ran into a problem with the 'clicking sounds' discribed on the video. The camera angle helped me to resolve the issue. While the Thule rack system was expensive for us, it was rock solid hauling a roof top box all the way to the beach and back... worth the $. I look forward to using it for other items.
