Thule 898 Hullavator Pro Kayak Rack

We bought two pairs and love them. We are seniors and they have extended our ability to easily transport our kayaks for many more years to come on top of our RAM pickup. Great product!

The product was well packaged. After reading the assembly instructions well, the Hullavator was relatively easy to put together. It surpassed expectations after mounting it on my F150 canopy. It will make it easy to load our 12.10 ft kayak.

Awesome piece of equipment, we bought one last year and it was so convenient we just bought a second. Installation was quick and easy.

I used the rapid gutter feet (low), and the 69" airpro bar on the roof of my Jeep Gladiator. You'll need a longer than 60" bar to get it to fit the roof with the extra distance on each side you need. Amazingly simple to install. The bow and stern straps are first rate, and it lifted my 55 lb boat effortlessly. I am a little concerned about the racks attaching to the bar with only two screws each. I'm keeping a wrench in the truck to check torque routinely.

2020 Jeep Gladiator

Purchased my first over eight years ago and am as happy with my second. I now have two mounted on my car. Minor design changes from my first. Completely happy with this one as well.

This baby is a game changer!! Fits nicely on my car. Easy to use. Slightly clunky. Minimal noise while driving. I’m a big fan, overall.

Easy to assemble. Install on a Subaru Forester. Very easy and effortless use to install a kayak on the roof

Expensive but worth it

I tried my Thule Hullavator for the first time today. It’s wonderful! I’m 5’5” and I’m putting it on a Ram 2500, almost impossible without this rack. Three hundred miles at 70 mph and the boat didn’t move around at all.

Very well constructed parts can’t wait to use it this summer

Despite the great service provided by Rackattack, the Thule Hullavator 898 is disappointing in terms of expectations: rough engineering of many parts. It only supports 40 lbs.

Amazing system.

Rack installation is more involved than a typical Thule rack. However, once installed, loading a 55lb touring kayak onto the roof of the van very easy for one person, and carries boat securely.

2013 Toyota Sienna dual door

If you have a kayak and it goes on top of your vehicle, buy this. Makes the loading and unloading a breeze. They do cost a lot but if you don't want to scratch your vehicle or get a hernia trying to load anything up high, this is the way to go.

Purchased this rack for ease of use and to improve independence in being able to load and unload my own boat following a spinal cord injury. I am no longer able to reach overhead and stand on the wheel well to load my boat much less to tie it down. This rack has been amazing so far!
