I purchased this unit at the end of last season last year and I love it. Very easy to put on my Thule bike holder also, also safe and secure. Best add on I've purchased

I just bought this for my Jeep (using it combination with my Thule spare tire bike rack). It's awesome! I was unsure about buying it after reading some other comments, but I went for it and I'm really happy with it. My snowboard is very secure, you can lock it, and it sits high enough that the snow and ice don't get it dirty. I really don't know what some of those other people were saying, but this is definitely a great rack!! LOVE IT!!!!

Works great for me I can store 4 snowboards in it and they are pretty secure. It will even fit wide snowboards!

While the rack design is ideal from a hitch point of view and the fact that you can leverage an existing investment in a previous Thule rack, the design is flawed when it comes to snowboards. I could not securely place my snowboard on the back of this and feel confident it would not get damaged on the trip to the point I did not use the rack. I personally did not like the way you attach skis or snowboards to the rack. Finally... Thule needs to consider allowing the bottom arm to swing out to allow the use of snowboard and/or ski bags. They also need to do away with the flimsy rubber secure cords. I hate to say, but this design was done with out consideration of the potential uses. Thule needs to go back to the drawing board on this design and come back with an update.

I bought this at a local Rack Attack this time last year. I got the Ridgeline rack by Thule, which is amazing! However, this Hitch Ski really isn't that great. It requires a few bolts that take a lot of finagling to get lined up, and the locking top bar doesn't come in contact with the boards (You have to rely on a rubber strap to hold the boards in... They seem sturdy enough, But i'd like the added comfort of having the locking cross bar hold them in too). I think the Yakima version of this would be a better buy. It's MUCH easier to install (Make sure you buy a lock for it though), and the implementation of the top bar makes it seem a lot sturdier overall (with less parts). Just my 2 cents...

The Thule hitch ski is a great way to get full usage out of your Thule hitch mounted bike rack. The hitch ski takes about 5 minutes to install onto your Thule bike rack. The best thing about this rack is how easy it is to load your skis/snowboards. The only downfall with the Thule hitch ski is that once you get to the ski hill, your equipment might be covered in slush/salt depending on the driving conditions. So with that being said you can get a ski bag to protect your skis or better yet you can get a roof mounted cargo box to protect your gear from the elements.
