The product has been satisfactory and used on more than a dozen long distance trips carrying camping gear, suitcases, etc. We have leaned two bikes against it, tied them down, and went down the road. We have strapped two large kayaks vertically next to the Rocketbox with some homemade 2" x 2" wooden extenders that we slipped under the box, extending the carrier out about 6-8" on the driver's side. While this worked in a pinch, I would recommend getting at least 66" bars to expand the cartop carrying ability of factory roofracks, which are not generally very wide. We have been satisfied with the Rocketbox, and continue to buy Yakima products.
