Ordered on Sunday, received it on Tuesday, on pickup Wednesday. I cannot say enough about the GREAT customer service at the Denver store. Very courteous, efficient, knowledgeable. The Thule T2 is not just made, it is machined by my standards all the way down to the brass bushings at pivotal points. Putting it together in the living room was a breeze. Put it on the pickup and it worked like a charm. It is pricey, but then so are BMW's. You get what you pay for and this is worth every penny. I am "picky" and this even exceeded my expectations. Well made and very stout.

Is there an adapter that would allow me to use this on my 2" reciever on truck but also use it on my 1.25" reciever on car?
Jason,
Unfortunately Thule only offers the T2 in a 1.25 inch and a 2 inch without any adapters.
You can get 2'' adapters from a number of places for the 1.25'' to work on your 2'' but you won't be able to use the 918XTR T2 Add On (four bike carrying capability) with a 1.25'' size. If you are going to do this, make sure you get the 1.25'' because it is safer to go up than go down. For instance, using a 2'' T2 with an adapter to make it work for a 1.25'' is not nearly as safe.

Will the 916XTR T2 rack clear the rear gate mounted spare tire and carrier. How far from the hitch base pin hole to the first tray of the rack?
John,
In our experience the T2 will clear the spare tire for carrying bikes. It however cannot fold up against the back of the jeep when not in use without a hitch extension. We carry the extensions, although they are not recommended by Thule.
