Will the 916XTR T2 rack clear the rear gate mounted spare tire and carrier. How far from the hitch base pin hole to the first tray of the rack?
John,
In our experience the T2 will clear the spare tire for carrying bikes. It however cannot fold up against the back of the jeep when not in use without a hitch extension. We carry the extensions, although they are not recommended by Thule.

We have two heavy ebike (Bionx) 1/ Specialized 2/ Giant both adult bikes. Approx. weight is 50 pounds each. Batteries are taken off in travel mode. In respect to this rack is there a problem? Don

The 916XTR T2 is able to support 60 lbs. per bike, or 120 lbs. maximum for both bikes. So it will be fine for your two bikes, as long as they do not have front fenders. If you ever wish to add the 918XTR 2-bike add-on, then the weight limit drops to 160 lbs. overall, or 40 lbs. per bike.
As you are enquiring about the 916XTR, I assume that you have a 2" trailer hitch on your FX 35. If your hitch is a smaller Class 1 or 2, then you would need the 1 1/4" T2 (part number 917XTR) and the weight per bike would be lower - down to 100 lbs. overall maximum capacity.
