The Thule 847 Outrigger II Lift Assist replaces the discontinued Thule 547 Outrigger. A brand new design that makes it even easier to load and unload boats alone. Great for the lone paddler, the extension bar provides the extra hand when loading.
- Retractable bar extends from inside load bar and provides pivot point for loading boats on tall vehicles, including vans, trucks, SUV's and wagons
- Lift one end of the boat onto the extension bar, lift the other end onto the canoe or kayak carrier and now you can easily re-position the first end onto the canoe or kayak carrier
- Allows for full length of base rack load bar to be utilized for other accessories
- Prevents unwanted boat to vehicle contact
- Fits Thule standard load bars only

I have a wonderful Thule rack system and 2 Hula port Pro Adapters. I also use the Aero bars.
It is really sad that this new Thule 847 outrigger II doesn't adapt to the more expensive Aero Bars. Come on Thule lets get them out there for people who don't have the standard bars. I would definitely purchase a set of these bars if they would work with my aero bars, as the concept is great, especially after a long day of Kayaking.
