This is an easy system to use and assemble onto a Thule rack. I have two sets for Kayaks for myself and my wife and would suggest this system to anybody who is interested in kayak carrier.

It was a pain in the neck to insert the bolts into the holes to the point where the square shoulder on the bolt engaged the square hole. I had to pull so hard on one mounting pad to get it out of the way that the rubber pads that are held together with a dove tail type tonque and groove were disconnected and required a vice to reassemble. One of the knobs that you hand tighten to clamp the J-bar to the roof rack was missing a threaded insert. The hole had not even been drilled for it. I had to press a SS nut into the counterbore. After the whole thing was together, it rained and I have a lot of rust drippings onto the car from some of the fasteners and screws. The attachment of the rack to the car was also a pain. Now that it is installed, the design works well.
