The Thule 753-3998 Ski Rack Mounting Hardware contains replacement mounting hardware for the older model Thule ski and snowboard racks. The Thule 753-3998 replaces the previous Thule FM1 clamp. (Original wing nuts are required for install)

The write up says 'older racks'. Can the hardware be used to to replace (broken) backets on a 2012 Thule 92726 Universal Pull Top Ski rack? Thanks

Technically, no. You need the original wing knobs from the "older style" ski racks to get the 753-3998 hardware to work. The current style ski racks like the 92726 Pull Top and 92724/5 Flat Tops use the SpeedLink hardware from Thule. The SpeedLink is not available through our website, as it is considered a spare part. I have an old Thule 597/598 ski rack (star wheel insert). Will this kit allow me to connect my ski rack to a 2011 Subaru Factory Installed Bars?

Unfortunatley, no. This hardware set will not work with the old 597 Ski Carrier. It only works on the newer style flat tops by Thule.

Will this adapter still allow the rack to be locked to the racks using the one-key system, does it have a separate lock, or does it not support locking to the rack?
This uses a security torx bit to fasten your ski rack to your roof rack. The lockability of the ski rack remains the same.
