This rack fits great on top of my bug. It was fairly easy to install and took us about 25 minutes. I would recommend the locks as it is very easy to remove and could be easily stolen. I still think anyone who really wanted it could get past the locks but at least they are a deter-ant. So far it seems like a very secure rack and holds our kayak well, we also purchased the kayak sports rack J rack. The rack is a bit pricey but then the bug is an odd shaped vehicle :)
