Just went on our first trip to the lake with the canoe, the gunwale supports and straps alone anchored the load to the car extremely well. When I added the front and rear security ropes (included in kit) the canoe was really immovable. I could shake the canoes and the whole car would move with it. The strap buckles are rubber protected to not scratch your gear and the auto lock pulley system on the security ropes allows you to fasten your load without having to tie a knot!
Overall I would rate this product a 6 out of 5. It is extremely quick to put together and use and I can hall my canoe at 110 km/hr + without any worry of the canoe flying off; its that secure.
