Can I use this rack with Thule rapid aero bars?

Unfortunately, you cannot mount the 558p Tandem carrier to the Thule AeroBlade bars. There is no adapter available to mount them either. They will fit Thule square or Yakima round bars only.

I want to carry a tandem on the roof of my mini countryman using the factory base carrier. Why couldn't I mount the Thule or Yakima tandem roof racks on the Mini factory base?
Collins,
Due to the design and load assist feature on both Thule and Yakima tandem carriers, they will only affix to Thule square, or Yakima round bars. This is due to the lateral tension that comes with loading the bike onto the carrier, and most plastic/fiberglass factory racks are not tested to handle the stress.
