Saris Bones RS Black Bike Rack

I bought this rack about 8 years ago upon the advice of the bike store owner. It is simply one of the FINEST products of ANY type that I have EVER purchased in my life. It is so easy to place this on my car---I can be ready to take off in only a few minutes. It is solid and secure and I can put 3 bikes on it with complete confidence. I love it as much as I love my bike---and that is really saying something.

This Saris rack fits the back of our 2013 Subaru Outback perfectly. It doesn't go near the back door glass window either. So secure on the car we can't believe it- a brilliant design. Easy to take off and on. Worth every penny

I bought this rack to travel to Acadia National Park. The rack performed solidly, keeping 3 adult mountain bikes solidly locked in for the 6 hour trek. Over the week of biking our group had many different bikes from Cruisers to kids BMX to Adult mountain bikes on this rack all of which tightly attached and strapped on with ease using the the system of pulls and swivel stops. I love this rack. I never felt comfortable with my older aluminum rack which rested on the glass of my Toyota Hatchback. Be sure to latch the straps onto the hinges and not use the spoiler body molding to fasten the straps. There is a bit of play in one of the arms that bothers me a bit as it seems loose and shifts up and down a bit when not loaded. Once everything is on, the bikes rest solidly and the rack stays in place. Sweet piece of equipment.

This rack looks great, fits like a glove on my Mazda3, and is too easy to put on. It literally takes 10 seconds to put on and about 5 seconds to take off. The locking feature is great as well.

I bought the Saris Bones RS bike rack...it's awesome, rock solid and so easy to put on the car. Bikes lift on and off and the strap system works smoothly. I have misplaced the locking keys and hopefully they can obtain new ones with their master key selection.

2003 Subaru Outback

I purchased this rack from Rack Attack store in Toronto. After using it for couple of time, I got problem with one of the ratchet, need too much force to release and extend the strap to reach top of rear door on my mini van, the ratchet also did not collect back and tighten the strap. So I could not use it for more than 2 times. I called Saris USA, they tolled me they can not serve customers out of USA and I should contact local dealer. I called Rack Attack, I was told I have to take it to store to investigate the problem. Although the store was too far from my location I went there, They took couple of pictures and told me whenever they receive replacement or news from Saris USA, they will call me. After 2 months and several follow up calls, yet no news. I called back Saris USA, and report them the situation, they asked me to send them directly pictures. I did so. I am still waiting. For this I am completely unsatisfied with my purchase and the way Rack Attack deal with warranty issues and the way SARIS USA let the customers in Canada down.

2001 Toyota Sienna

It was easy to install, I liked the fact that it was lockable and had metal straps.

I bought this rack from Saris and think it's the best thing on the market. Very easy to take on and off and the ratchet system is great. After a year of use, one of the ratchets on my rack took a little bit of elbow grease to detach. So I called customer service and they were incredible. They replaced the part for me and were very responsive and understanding. Great products and great customer service. I put them up with Bose in those categories.

We love how easy the Bones RS is to install on our car-only 2 straps to contend with. It installs in minutes without the frustration of multiple straps for attaching to your car-well worth the extra money if you can afford it. We would like to see a stronger locking system for the rack onto a car as other people have mentioned but it is not a deal breaker. That is why we rate it 4 stars vs. 5 stars. The rachet system to tighten the straps onto a car works easily and holds well so far. And we love the added bonus of buying and supporting an independent local business as we live in Wisconsin. We highly recommend the Bones RS.
